Calculus removal and sandblasting as the fundamental of dental treatment

Periodontal diseases

Periodontitis is easy to diagnose and is usually easy to remove.

It is only worth realizing that the basis for having a healthy periodontium is a proper oral hygiene, and thus thorough cleaning of teeth and interdental spaces. Inaccurate cleaning leads to plaque buildup, and within a few days - to formation of scale.

We will not remove large tartar deposits at home. This is only possible in a dental office, where scale and sediment are broken and removed by ultrasound. This is called scaling.

Due to the fact that practically all of us experience mistakes in brushing our teeth, almost every patient should have regular scaling performed - about once per six months.

To clean the residue, sandblasting is performed after scaling.
