Phases of implant treatment
Implants
Implantological treatment takes place during several visits.
- During the first visit, treatment planning is based on interviews with the patient and oral examination. The 3D tomographic image is analyzed, showing the 3D structure of the bone, the root system of adjacent teeth, and other anatomical details, so you can precisely plan the size, length and position of the future implant.
- During the second visit, the implant is implanted, i.e. the titan root. The procedure is performed with the help of local anesthesia.
- After a week it is time for a check-up visit.
- After the period that must elapse in order to complete healing process of the titanium implant, i.e. after about three months on average, the so-called “exposure of the implant” is done, by which we mean mounting the healing screw on the implant. It allows the gum to be shaped in such a way that the future crown blends in nicely with it and looks aesthetically pleasing against the background of the gum and other teeth.
- After a further two weeks, the time for the last stage - prosthetic. During the visit, impressions are made for the future crown, i.e. the supragingival part of the implant. We often arrange the patient for the necessary adjustments to optimally match the restoration.
A connector is installed on the last visit and a crown on it. Hygiene instruction is carried out and follow-up visits are recommended.
