If a plaque and calculus are not removed, the accumulated bacteria can irritate and damage the gums that surround the teeth.
This is accompanied by the following symptoms:
- pain swelling or redness of the gums
- spontaneous bleeding or bleeding caused by gentle brushing or eating
- unpleasant smell coming from the mouth, not associated with eating dishes with an intense smell
Gingivitis can progress, and if you don't get treatment, it can lead to inflammation of periodontium professionally referred to periodontitis.
